Thirlmere Fell Care Day

Thirlmere has taken a bit of a bruising this year, both from the threat of major development which would have substantially altered its tranquil character, to the toppling of many trees from storms over on the western shore which is still restricting access.

So the Friends of the Lake District want people to join them to give a bit of time and care back to this special place at their Thirlmere Fell Care Day on Sunday, 23rd September.

It's a great opportunity for those who love the Lake District to put something back into looking after, and learning about it, while having a day of physical fun and camaraderie fuelled by cake!.

They've got some terrific tasks to choose from for all ages and abilities and there's still time to book your place (first-come, first served).
