Here are some walks from Coniston you might like to try. They both start from the car park above Coniston at the end of the Walna Scar public road and the road can be tricky in icy conditions so be careful when driving up there:
The Old Man of Coniston Trig Point
Walna Scar, White Maiden, White Pike, with a visit to Blind Tarn - these are three "connoisseur's hills", according to a chap we met whilst on one of them. The precession of people along Walna Scar road are mainly heading to Dow Crag, which is a shame as these are a lovely cluster of hills. After the rough loose rocks and stones of the pass their soft grassy paths are very welcome.
WalkLakes recognises that hill walking, or walking in the mountains, is an activity with a danger of personal injury or death.
Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
