Lanthwaite Green Farm where the cattle grid marks the spiritual start of Buttermere - okay you get to Crummock Water first. Melbreak behind the farm. Note the bridge in the bottom right which is hidden to walkers heading for Whin Ben and Whiteside until the very last moment.
