Starting at the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park I followed the lane to Stool End Farm admiring the views of the Langdale Pikes. Beyond the farm the path heads up Oxendale and crossing the footbridge over Oxendale Beck it climbs steadily to the hause at Red Tarn. Turning right the trail is followed upwards with Crinkle Crags straight ahead. I avoided the bad step to skirt round to the summit which is the second crinkle. I then followed the rocky and undulating ridge across the other tops with views of Bowfell and then down to Three Tarns which has good views over the Scafell Massif. A long and steady walk down the Band took me back to the start. To read more about this walk click https://jimearl6.com/a-walk-up-crinkle-crags
