A Happy New Year to all our site users. Let's hope that this year brings us better news and also some good walking.
In 2023 we will continue to work on this site to both bring you the best Lake District walks and also to help you with your walking elsewhere in the British Isles via our GPX mapping app, our hills database, and the ability to have a hill bagging log book if you register with us.
Our priority at the moment, while the weather is not encouraging us to get out onto the fells that much, is to do some maintenance work on the web site. We are in the process of migrating this site to a new server. We've put significant money and work into this already and it should be going live later this month if all goes to plan.

We also continue to work on updating our walks, especially based on feedback from you, and also adding new walks like the new Scafell Pike walk which we added recently.
If you find our site useful then you can help support us by telling other people about our site - just tell them to search for "WalkLakes" as one word. If you want to help with our costs then for a while now you've been able to make a donation but we now also use Ko-fi which means you can buy us a coffee using the button below which you'll also find on various other pages on our site.
Anyway we hope you'll find some good walking in 2023 and perhaps one day we might bump into you on the fells.
