We've been doing more work in the north west in particular this year and we've now walked every Wainwright in his The North Western Fells which is the first of his books which we've completed. The last three walks we've just posted are a nice range of lengths:
Causey Pike across Derwent Water
A Shorter Coledale Round - the village of Braithwaite is the starting point for this splendid meander over the fells on the south-eastern side of Coledale taking you to four Wainwrights: Barrow, Outerside, Sail, and Crag Hill as well as visiting the ruins of Force Crag Mine.
Causey Pike and Scar Crag - a fairly technical walk from Uzzicar but well worth the effort with great views and industrial heritage around.
Knott Rigg and Ard Crags - a short, uncomplicated, walk to the two Wainwright fells of Knott Rigg and Ard Crags with excellent views of the surrounding fells and of Moss Force - a great cascade of water draining Buttermere Moss.
Now we're working hard on the other books and it's a battle between The Northern Fells and The Eastern Fells as to which will be the next one we will complete.
