Hills Database Updated

We've just imported the latest version of the Database of British and Irish hills which adds another 53 hills to our database and makes lots of changes to the existing hill data. We were previously on version 12.1 (with some changes we'd done for any significant re-classifications through the year) and we're now on 13 which was released last Sunday. The full revision history is available.

The changes to classifications to our database, which as we said had already been updated - for example to classify Beinn a' Chlaidheimh from a Munro to a Corbett, is as follows. As usual your bagging lists will have been automatically updated as appropriate.

That's a total of 74 updates. You will note a new classification Furth. These are hills over 3000ft in England and Wales1

A fuller list, with all the other changes, to names, heights, description of summit feature and (especially) locations can be found here.

  1. Furths also include hills over 3000ft in Ireland, although our version of the database doesn't include those.
